Verification Study to Improve the Japanese-DLP Calculation Method for Shielding in the X-ray CT Room

Background and purpose: The Japanese dose-length product (Japanese-DLP) method is currently being developed for calculation of CT shielding. purpose this study to verify the Japanese-DLP method. Methods: Scattered dose in room was measured during head, body, limbs a human body phantom under standard imaging conditions, compared with radiation calculated using Results: minimum calculated/measured ratios were 2.0 4.7 head respectively. value ratio 1.9 when air kerma scatter factor (AKSF) used 7.4 AKSF used. overestimated AKSF, which could be reduced half. In addition, it possible use limbs. Conclusions: did not underestimate scattered half (3.0 × 10–4) current level. Use result underestimated values.
